Rob is one of Academic Achievers top Application Specialists. He was the writing teacher for the prestigious Francis W. Parker Day School in Chicago as well as on their Admissions Committee. Rob has worked as a teacher/advisor for over 20 years. He has trained teachers, published articles in education journals, presented at educational conferences and lectured at graduate schools of education. His primary focus has been developing skills and building work habits to prepare students for middle and high school. Rob's workshops receive rave reviews from students and parents alike.
5th & 6th Grade
This one-week intensive workshop gives incoming 5th and 6th grade students a chance to work on a variety of writing skills. The main objective is to help build their enjoyment and confidence in writing. Areas of concentration include descriptive, persuasive and reflective writing. Students will also focus on planing and revision (with attention to punctuation and grammar), and learn strategies to prepare them for further success with classroom writing assignments.

7th & 8th Grade
This one-week intensive workshop gives incoming 7th and 8th grade students a chance to work on a variety of writing skills. The main objective is to help build their confidence in approaching writing assignments. Areas of concentration include descriptive, persuasive, analytical (with sources), personal narrative, and creative writing. Students will also focus on the planning, drafting, and revision stages of writing, and learn strategies to prepare them for further success in the classroom.
